This was the first time I was able to get my hands on some lovely, sizable sapphire rounds… and I couldn’t wait to put them into some jewellery. To make the sapphire rounds (about 8mm) stand out, I teamed them with white pearls and separated them with sterling silver flower spacers – creating a focal point in the center of the necklace. The piece, which measures just over 17 inches (44 cms), is finished with a sterling silver bolt ring clasp. The necklace is very versatile – being suitable as bridal jewellery and for other special occasions… but with the sapphire being a dark denim colour, it could also be worn with casual clothes. Sapphire is September’s birthstone. Matching bracelet and earrings available.
Sapphire, September’s birthstone, is said to be a calming stone, bringing peace of mind to the wearer. It is believed to be a pain reliever and reduce blood pressure. Sapphire is also known as a stone of prosperity.
