I’ve teamed white freshwater pearls with peridot for this necklace. The peridot gemstones are faceted rondelles and the three that create a focal point at the front, are separated by sterling silver beads. The necklace is finished with a sterling silver bolt ring clasp and extension chain and measures just under 17 inches to 18 inches (43-45 cms).
Peridot, August’s birthstone, is believed to reduce stress and be a tonic for body and mind. It’s also a good anti-toxin gem, a powerful cleanser. The lovely green stone sharpens the mind and opens it to new levels of awareness. Pearl, June’s birthstone, is said to give the wearer a sense of calmness and to promote faith, loyalty, truth and purity. Pearls have been used throughout medical history to help treat disorders of the digestive tract, muscular systems and the skin. They are also believed to increase fertility as well as easing childbirth. Peridot has many of the same properties and is said to help with childbirth by strengthening the contractions and reducing the pain.
